INNISHMURRAY CROSS
County Sligo
The early monastic sites on Inishmurray Island off the coast of Sligo contains many unique features that have been well preserved due to the difficulty of access to the island. The inscribed cross is thought to be one of the earliest of the style with celtic intertwining. Other relics preserved on the island include a ballaun basin with deep hollows in which retains its original turning stones.
