The Reask Pillar is a unique example of the enigmatic carvings made during the early christian period. The carving is thought to date from between the 7th - 10th centuries, a period which left many carvings that retain the Sun Symbolism of the pre-christian era. The lettering on the pillar may spell DNE, short form of Domine/God.
